Introduction:
EMTensor Inc. is looking for a candidate in the San Francisco Bay area / Silicon Valley, specifically Milpitas/San Jose/Fremont, for the position of a Systems Application and Test Engineer, preferably with experience in tomography and medical device/capital equipment deployment in pursuit of FDA/CE mark marketing approval. Experience with Tx/DAC and Rx/ADC in the microwave region of the spectrum (1-10 GHz or wider), RF power and phase measurement (S parameters) and switching resource management in pursuit of relative permittivity mapping image reconstruction of the internals of humans (e.g. brain) is desired. The qualified candidate will be highly collaborative and will exhibit technical excellence with proven ability to execute the complete embedded software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- RF systems and software specification testing (embedded, UX and Cloud GPU clusters with 100s nodes) and costing of materials, labor and time required for each test project
- Automated regression testing, image quality and UX for all aspects of our systems
- Performing requirements flow-down/decomposition to subsystem/system requirements and acceptance test plans in a requirements management system, e.g. DOORS and reviewing operational analysis and test procedures to assure integrated performance meets specification.
- Identifying EMI/EMC issues at the overall system level as well as down to module, PCB and component level, to include RFIC SOC implementations
- Partnering with the executive management team, the head of software development and business development partners on questions about our systems capabilities
- Performing requirements flow-down/decomposition to subsystem/system requirements and acceptance test plans in a requirements management system, e.g. DOORS and reviewing operational analysis and test procedures to assure integrated performance meets specification.
- Communication with the hardware, cloud and image reconstruction teams
- Growth and development to include customer facing and clinical trials participation
Qualifications:
- Digital signal processing algorithm test (constant false alarm rate, detection probability maximization) using C++/Python and FPGA firmware technology knowledge
- Ideally 3-5 years experience but could move in either direction subject to compensation
- Ability to learn/innovate through curiosity in the field of systems for software defined radio (SDR) links
- Embedded systems, ideally requirements management, implementation
- ADC/DAC (16 bit KSPS with radios in 1-8 GHz region), PIC processor software development, engineering UI development
- Ability to test RF link budget analyses, cascade analyses, functional decomposition, studies/trade-offs in support of subsystem specification and hardware, firmware and software design recommendations
- Comfort working closely with senior engineers and mentoring junior technical contributors on simultaneous top-down/bottom-up test and configuration for RF/microwave communication/monitoring systems Experience in designing testing systems/fixtures in a multi-disciplinary environment including developing and writing software for test and integration
- Experience developing system test plans, participating in system level testing and fault diagnostics
- RF/Microwave electronics/measurements experience and use of RF Test and Measurement Equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, signal generators, Logic Analyzers, and ideally signal/channel generator/analyzers for narrow and wide bandwidths of operation
- Hands on test, verification and validation is a plus
- Great written and verbal communication skills, especially customer/partner facing
- Team player across a globally dispersed set of PhDs and experienced hardware and software developers
- Local SF bay area, close to Milpitas/Fremont
- Prior experience of medical technology environment FDA submission is a plus
- Medical imaging system test experience, including DICOM format and workflow under RIS/PACS, especially in refinement of man machine interface (physical & software, covering the patient and clinician experience
